Another Brazilian charity virginity auction

ORANGE NEWS [03/01/13]

A second Brazilian girl is auctioning off her virginity online for a 'good cause'.
Rebecca Bernardo, 18, of Sapeacu, says she hopes to raise enough money to cover health care costs for her ailing mother.

She is following in the footsteps of fellow Brazilian Catarina Migliorini, 20, who sold her virginity for nearly £500,000 to a Japanese man named "Natsu" in an online auction.
Miss Migliorini promised to plough part of the money into a fund to build houses for the needy in her home state of Santa Catarina.

Miss Bernardo admitted being inspired by Miss Migliorini's efforts, but only after attempting other forms of employment, which she said barely covered the costs of a caretaker for her mother.

"There comes a time when you have to make decisions to get what you want," she told CNN. "You have to be strong."

However, her mother, who recently had a stroke, is unhappy with her decision, saying: "She should look for work. She shouldn't prostitute herself."

Miss Bernardo has made a YouTube video advertising her auction which has attracted more than 50,000 views but without, so far, the results that Miss Migliorini achieved.

The highest bid to date has been around £22,000. However, Miss Migliorini's higher profile auction was run by an Australian film maker.
