Oyo sacks 3 commissioners

The Oyo State government has sacked three commissioners. The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Waheed Akin Olajide, told journalists in yesterday that Commissioners Alhaji Yunus Akintunde (Works and Transport), Mr. Bosun Oladele (Information and Orientation) and Hon. Kazeem Adedeji (Trade, Investment and Cooperatives) were dropped.
He added that the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Bimbo Kolade was moved to the Ministry of Lands; while the Commissioner for Lands, Mr. Ajiboye Omodewu, was moved to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.


According to him, Mr. Peter Odetomi the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs is now Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development; while Mr. Lowo Obisesan, was moved from the Ministry of Establishment and Training to the Ministry of Environment.

The reshuffle also saw the Commissioner for Applied Science and Technology, Mr. Adegbenro taking charge of the Ministry of Trade, Investment and Cooperatives, while the name of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Pastor Taiwo Otegbeye was forwarded to the state House of Assembly for confirmation as a commissioner.

The SSG, who stressed that the sacked commissioners committed no offence, said the reshuffle was aimed at enhancing more effectiveness and efficiency in service delivery.
