In a broadcast on national radio (Federal Radio Corporation
of Nigeria –
FRCN) this morning, the dreaded radical islamist sect, Boko Haram (BH)
addressed the nation urging Nigerians to be truthful and law abiding, among other
necessary qualities it enumerated for national unity. It will be recalled that
over 3000 lives thereabouts have been lost and property worth millions of Naira
have been destroyed in several horrendous attacks attributed to the group.
The BH said it is currently in dialogue with the Federal
Government of Nigeria in order to address burning issues, and thus promised
ceasefire.
The broadcast was a recorded speech the FRCN claimed was
forwarded to it on compact disc (CD).
