Scores of protesters on Friday cut off the Corniche and the tramway in al-Qaed Ibrahim Mosque's area in Alexandria and placed cement barriers on the tramway.

Scuffles broke out between tram drivers and a number of protesters who insisted on cutting off the tramway.

Security forces were absent during the scuffles, an Aswat Masriya eyewitness reported.
This incident comes as scores have started rallying at al-Qaed Ibrahim Mosque.
A number of political powers have begun an open-ended sit-in at al-Khaledin Park opposite to al-Qaed Ibrahim to demand toppling the regime and denounce what they called the "brotherhoodisation" of the state, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.
The protesters set up two tents at the site of the sit-in and said they will not break their sit-in up until their demands are met.
